Catholic Schools Week 2021 Day 1
To all in our school community,
Today we mark the beginning of Catholic Schools Week 2021. The theme for this year is "Communities of Faith, Learning, Love, Resilience and Hope". It is very important to celebrate these wonderful qualities which we have in our school community. These qualities were part of the vision of our founder Jules Chevalier, of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Coláiste an Chroí Naofa was built upon a community of faith with the mission of "bringing God's love to all people". Now more than ever, that faith and resilience is needed in our school community.
Last year we were lucky to have Fr. Alan come to our school to talk to
students about his work as an MSC both here in Ireland and abroad. He has served as a beacon for us and shows us the power of faith and resilience. He has taken up a new post in South Sudan and we wish him well! You can read about the MSC's and Fr. Alan's story About Us | Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (mscmissions.ie)
We are now part of a larger CEIST family and join with other communities of faith in promoting Gospel values in our schools. See Ceist | Catholic Education | An Irish School's Trust
The theme for today is "Communities of Faith and Resilience". Deacon Brian Williams states that "Our humanity, our community response, our faith and our dedication has served as a beacon for many during the darkness and difficulty of the last few months. Let us keep this beacon burning brightly to make sure no one is left alone as we forge a new normal in our lives.’
We begin Catholic School Week in the knowledge that we stand together, bringing God's love to everyone as a community of faith and resilience.
‘I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.’ – C.S. Lewis
God bless.
