Update for 3rd Year Students
Dear parent/guardian and students
We hope that all our 3rd Year students have had a relaxing and restful mid-term break, and are ready to re-engage with their online learning from Monday 22nd February. They have engaged really well with their learning since Christmas and it is important that they continue to focus on their work as we head in to the second half of this term. It has not been easy for them as the attention of the whole country has been on the Leaving Cert exams with very little focus on the Junior Certs and we have been impressed by their resilience and with how they remained committed to their learning. It is now important to provide some clarity for our students since the government announced the cancellation of the Junior Cert Exams in June.
In order to ensure that all students remain productively engaged with learning until the end of the school year, please note the following:
Ø Students will continue to engage with their teachers in each of their online classes until a return to school is announced.
Ø Students will continue to study the Junior Cert curriculum in each of their subjects until the end of May.
Ø Teachers will continue to keep records of attendance for all of their classes.
Ø Alternative assessment arrangements will be implemented this year and will be marked by your teachers.
Ø All students who complete 3rd year will receive a Certificate of Completion of the Junior Cycle from the Department of Education, and will also receive a report at school level.
We will keep you up to date on the details of return to school and in- house assessments as they evolve and are confirmed. We look forward to welcoming our 3rd years back to the classroom in the not too distant future.
Kind regards,
